We are pleased to inform you that we can remap the 2021+ engines of certain Mercedes-Benz models, including those with ECUs that are currently unreadable. However, the ECU must first be unlocked by bFlash before the software can be read and adjusted.

bFlash offers ECU unlocking services for the following engines:

• OM654 (Diesel): 1.95D MD1CP001 (MRD1/MRD1NFZ)
• OM656 (Diesel): 2.9D MD1CP001 (MRD1)
• M139 (Petrol): 2.0T MG1CP002 (MRG1 AMG R4)
• M256 (Petrol): 3.0T MG1CP002 (MRG1)

To proceed, you will need to send the ECU to bFlash in Luxembourg. Once unlocked, bFlash will provide you with the readouts, which we can then use to adjust the software.

Unlocking BMW ECUs, particularly those manufactured after June 2020, requires specialized handling due to updated security protocols that prevent direct software access. All post-June 2020 ECUs require a FEMTO unlock, which involves sending the ECU to their facility in Finland.

Steps to unlock your ECU

1. Prepare your car. Park the car in a safe location where it won’t need to be moved, as it will not run without the ECU.
2. Register with FEMTO. Create an account at https://orders.femtoevo.com/.
3. Purchase the unlock service. Select the appropriate service for the ECU.
4. Ship the ECU and use a secure, insured courier service to send the ECU to FEMTO’s address in Finland. Include any required documentation, and label the parcel properly for customs (if you’re located outside Europe).

After the ECU is unlocked by FEMTO, we can remap the software to enhance your vehicle’s performance.

Costs
As an example, unlocking an S58 ECU costs €750 EUR (pricing as of the time of writing). This fee is for unlocking only and excludes tuning and shipping costs. For pricing on other engine types, availability, or any questions regarding the unlock service, please contact FEMTO directly.
